Nadezhda's Review of Get Your Guide's Istanbul Food Tour

What Nadezhda thinks

Today I learned that pastrami originates from the Turkish word "pastrama," typically enjoyed as part of breakfast. We immersed ourselves in the local culture by having breakfast near the Spice Bazaar, where we indulged in the vibrant colors of tea, spices, Turkish delights, cheese, and olives. After crossing the Bosphorus on a local ferry to the Asian side of Istanbul, we explored more local foods. My favorites included mussels with rice and Turkish breakfast soup, Beyran, made with lamb stock, and the refreshing Turkish yogurt drink, ayran, perfect for hot summer days. I highly recommend attending the Taste of Two Continents food tour to experience the diverse flavors of Istanbul and learn intriguing facts. For instance, did you know that making baklava requires a license, and there's even a "baklava mafia" in the city?
