Nadezhda's Review of Get Your Guide's Turkish Mosaic Lamp Workshop

What Nadezhda thinks

Today, I learned how to make a Turkish mosaic lamp. It took about 3 hours, but everything was prepared in advance. We learned that in the Ottoman Empire, only sultans made mosaic lamps as a form of meditation. Colored glass was cut by slaves at that time, making the process very long, often taking a week to complete just one lamp. We were much faster. I chose a difficult ornament, but I felt a meditative relaxation while picking colors of glass, matching them in a beautiful star, gluing them to the lamp, and then covering it with small beads. You feel like a real artist who has created a masterpiece when it’s ready.
