Today I learned that you can hike a glacier just 2 hours away from Reykjavik. We met our guide Kevin in the parking lot and he gave us all the equipment for the tour. After just a short walk, we started to see Solheimajokull. He did a really fun safety briefing and then there we are, smashing the ice. We even did the Viking push up to drink some water and it was delicious. We explored a little bit more and it felt unreal. I loved that we saw blue ice and even tephra from a nearby volcano. There was also a waterfall just for us. We did it! I highly recommend this three hour glacier hike.
